Job summary

Midd lesex Veterinary Hospital in Valencia, PA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our patient-focused team. You will support veterinarians during appointments, treatments, dentistry, surgery, and in-house diagnostics.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience, strong nursing and client communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience.
• Experience in general practice, emergency, or specialty care.
• Strong nursing and technical skills.
• Good client communication and service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during appointments, treatments, and diagnostics.
• Obtain patient histories and support client education.
• Perform venipuncture and collect samples for lab work.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and administer meds as directed.
• Assist with dental procedures and radiographs.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during procedures.
• Prepare patients/equipment for surgery and assist post-op care.
• Document treatments accurately in medical records.
