Job summary

NVA General Practice is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our hospital team. You will work directly with the veterinary staff to ensure productive, high-quality care for animal patients.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, medications, vaccines, dental cleanings, anesthesia, radiographs, and post‑operative monitoring. The role requires strong communication, the ability to handle animals safely, and a commitment to ongoing education in veterinary care.

Qualifications

• RVT certification or license; if unlicensed, must complete training and VACSP within specified days.
• Excellent communication skills for fast-paced vet hospital.
• Ability to safely restrain and handle animals, including difficult cases.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarian during examinations and restrain animals as needed.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform routine dental cleanings under veterinarian direction (RVTs).
• Administer anesthesia and monitor patient response to anesthesia.
• Obtain radiographs with proper positioning and technique.
