Job summary

Green Bay Animal Hospital in Wilmette, IL is seeking an experienced or licensed veterinary technician to join a dedicated team. This full-time role offers 4-5 weekday shifts with rotating Saturdays, a competitive salary based on experience and licensure, and a strong emphasis on client and patient care.

You’ll triage patients, assist veterinarians, provide skilled nursing care, prepare medications, perform lab work and radiographs, and educate clients.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience required.
• Licensure preferred.
• Strong technical and patient-nursing skills.
• Empathy for clients, coworkers, patients, and yourself.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Provide compassionate nursing care from intake through discharge.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs and run in-house labs.
