Green Bay Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced or licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team in Illinois. This full-time role offers a competitive salary based on experience and licensure, with a schedule of 4-5 weekday shifts and rotating Saturdays.

You’ll triage patients, assist doctors, provide nursing care, and help educate clients while enjoying strong benefits, professional growth, and a supportive hospital culture.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience; current licensure is preferred.
• Strong technical and patient-nursing skills.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain histories, vital signs, and assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs.
• Run in-house laboratory testing and accurately process patient samples.
• Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care.
• Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, pain levels, and patient status during procedures and recovery.
• Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation.
• Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates to promote efficiency and collaboration.
