Job summary

CareVet of Cave Springs, AR is seeking a Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our hospital team. You will review patient records, take histories and vital signs, and help with admissions, discharges, and in-house prescriptions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience or training; Arkansas RVT preferred, not required.
• Willingness to train the right candidate.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Check patient records for histories and enter data.
• Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
• Maintain client educational materials in an efficient manner.
• Admit and discharge patients.
• Process and log prescription refills in-house, call-out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
• Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
• Administer medications to patients as needed.
• Place catheters and perform blood draws.
• Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods.
• Other duties as assigned.
