Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience.
• Registered Veterinary Technicians in state are preferred, not required; training offered.

Responsibilities

• Check patient medical records, enter data.
• Take medical histories and vital signs.
• Admit and discharge patients.
• Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
• Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
• Administer medications as needed.
• Place catheters and perform blood draws.
• Restrain and assist the doctor during exams and anesthesia procedures.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; stand for long periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Registered Veterinary Technician (state) preferred
