Texas Coalition for Animal Protection in Texas seeks a Veterinary Technician to deliver high-quality patient care, vaccines, and anesthesia support. You will triage, assist veterinarians, and maintain meticulous records while educating clients on responsible pet ownership.

Requires a Veterinary Technician role or related TCAP experience, strong computer/data-entry skills, and excellent communication. Full-time or part-time, with some travel to TCAP locations; $15+ per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have Veterinary Technician experience or have performed Veterinary Assistant I/II duties within TCAP.
• Experience giving injections and drawing blood.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to restrain animals and work with anesthesia protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provides knowledgeable and quality customer service.
• In-person and telephone client service.
• Promotes spay/neuter and educates clients on responsible ownership.
• Triages patients and reports health concerns to the veterinarian.
• Assists veterinarian; administers vaccines, medications, and treatments.
• Maintains drug logs and patient records; handles anesthesia per protocol.
• Prepares patients for surgery; implants microchips; travels to other TCAP locations as needed.
