Job summary

Green Light Pet Hospital in Plantation, FL operates a 24/7 emergency service focused on compassionate, transparent care for pets and families. We seek a skilled veterinary technician to support veterinarians in exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, and critical care, with meticulous medical records and patient welfare at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year ER veterinary experience preferred.
• Strong technical and patient care skills.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring, blood draws, catheter placement, and surgical assistance.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and emergency schedules as needed.
• CVT/RVT/LVT credential or equivalent hands-on experience (we'll level appropriately).
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, positive, and adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics and treatments.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
• Monitor anesthesia and surgical patients.
• Provide emergency and critical care support.
• Perform catheter placement, blood draws, radiographs, wound care, and lab procedures.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain medical records.
• Support post-operative recovery and ICU care.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Perform bloodwork, urinalysis, and diagnostic imaging.
• Assist with treatment planning and interpretation.
• Provide compassionate communication with pet owners.
• Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
• Create a supportive client experience during ER events.
• Maintain clean treatment areas, ICU spaces, and exam rooms.
• Operate and maintain medical equipment.
• Assist with inventory and hospital organization.
• Support a positive, collaborative team culture.

Hospital Location: Plantation, Florida

What you'll do:

Clinical & Patient Care:

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
• Monitor anesthesia and surgical patients
• Provide emergency and critical care support
• Perform catheter placement, blood draws, radiographs, wound care, and laboratory procedures
• Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain accurate medical records
• Support post-operative recovery and ICU patient care

Laboratory & Diagnostics

• Collect and process laboratory samples
• Perform bloodwork, urinalysis, and diagnostic imaging
• Assist with treatment planning and diagnostic interpretation

Client Communication

• Provide compassionate and professional communication with pet owners
• Educate clients regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
• Help create a supportive and transparent client experience during stressful ER situations

Hospital Operations

• Maintain clean and organized treatment areas, ICU spaces, and exam rooms
• Operate and maintain medical equipment
• Assist with inventory and hospital organization
• Support a positive and collaborative team culture

What you bring:

Preferred Qualifications:
