Black Dog Veterinary Services in Bozeman, MT, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our progressive small animal practice. We prioritize high technician utilization, strong doctor support, and opportunities for ownership of areas of interest.

We offer a weekday schedule with no weekends, nights, or holidays, and flexible full-time or part-time options. Credentialed technicians are preferred, but experienced non-credentialed professionals are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on veterinary clinical experience required.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred, but not required.
• Experienced non-credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply.
• Anesthesia and surgical monitoring experience.
• Strong patient handling and technical skills.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Self-starter who recognizes what needs to be done and takes initiative.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and eager to continue learning.
• Interest in contributing ideas and helping improve patient care and hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories and perform TPRs.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats using Fear Free techniques.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments.
• Take digital radiographs.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures and recovery.
• Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs.
• Support outpatient and hospitalized patient care.
• Fill prescriptions and maintain accurate medical records.
• Educate clients on treatments, medications, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to maintain efficient hospital flow.
