Companion Veterinary Hospital of Wayne is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician for a full-time role in Wayne, NJ. You will contribute to clinical care, client communication, and the smooth operation of the hospital.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, procedures, anesthesia, and patient handling, while maintaining records and supporting the team in delivering compassionate care to every pet and owner who visits.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Ability to compassionately handle and restrain animals.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced clinic.
• Familiarity with veterinary software for patient records.
• Physical capability to lift and restrain animals of varying sizes.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with appointments, exams, treatments and patient care.
• Ensure safe patient handling and restraint.
• Perform venipuncture and blood collection.
• Place IV catheters and prepare in-house lab samples.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Obtain patient histories and communicate with pet owners.
• Prepare patients and hospital for surgical and dental procedures.
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring and post-op recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support client services.
