Job summary

True Companion Veterinary Care in Cypress, TX seeks a compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced clinic. You will assist veterinarians with surgeries, coordinate animal care, and monitor recovery, helping our team deliver exceptional medical care to pets.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of veterinary technician experience, proficiency with Cornerstone/IDEXX software, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Need at least 2 years of veterinary technician position.
• Experience with Cornerstone/IDEXX software is a plus.
• Efficient in drawing blood from jugular, cephalic and saphenous veins in dogs and cats.
• Efficient catheter placement in dogs and cats.
• Monitor surgical patients and post-operative recovery.
• Experience with endoscopy, blood/plasma transfusion, and critical care setup is a plus.
• Previous veterinary technician experience is required.
• Knowledge of animal care and handling.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
• Patience and love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Triage pets as they arrive.
• Interview owners to obtain patient history.
• Take vital signs and collect blood samples.
• Assist with surgeries and monitor post-op recovery.
• Administer medications and give at-home dosage instructions.
• Keep accurate patient records.
• Work in a fast-paced hospital with multiple doctors.
• Assist with soft tissue surgery.
• Assist with orthopedic surgery.
