CareVet University Animal Clinic in Odessa, TX is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate and fast-paced team. You will assist in labs, radiography, dental procedures, anesthesia support, and patient care from intake to discharge.

Qualifications

• Animal handling and restraint skills
• Able to work on weekends (rotating schedule)
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
• At least 18 years of age
• Lift 50 lbs. to waist height
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests (ear cytologies, fecals, bloodwork, etc.)
• Takes medical histories and vitals
• Surgical prep, monitoring, and patient recovery
• Perform dental procedures
• Performs departmental housekeeping duties
• Taking x-rays
• Admits and discharges patients
• Prescription refills
• Monitors hospitalized patients
• Administering medication and treatments to patients
• Placing catheters and performing blood draws
• Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures
• Other duties as assigned
