Job summary

CareVet University Animal Clinic in Odessa, TX is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate, fast-paced team. You will perform lab tests, take histories and vitals, assist during exams and anesthesia, and help with x-rays and patient recovery.

We value reliable, detail-oriented professionals who communicate well and work effectively in a team. Experience in a veterinary setting and passion for animal welfare are preferred; Texas RVT preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Animal handling and restraint skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• At least 18 years of age.
• Lift 50 lbs. to waist height.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests (ear cytologies, fecals, bloodwork, etc.).
• Takes medical histories and vitals.
• Surgical prep, monitoring, and patient recovery.
• Taking x-rays.
• Admits and discharges patients.
• Prescription refills.
• Administering medication and treatments to patients.
• Placing catheters and performing blood draws.
• Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
