BluePearl Pet Hospital in East Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency department. The role focuses on anesthesia management, critical triage, and rapid diagnostic procedures to support lifesaving care for our patients.

This Relief position offers a dynamic environment with exposure to a wide range of emergency cases, requiring calm, precise skills and compassionate client communication within a busy hospital.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

Position: Veterinary Technician with our Emergency department.

Work Schedule: Relief

Pay: D ependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
