BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team at our East Dallas, TX location!

Position:

Veterinary Technician in our Emergency Department.

Work Schedule:

Relief

Pay:

Dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Responsibilities:
  1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  2. Triage emergency cases as they arrive, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
  4. Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  5. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes and issues.
  6. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  7. Calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications appropriately.
  8. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
  9. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  10. Show patience and empathy when addressing client concerns.
