Job summary

Pieper Veterinary in Middletown, CT is seeking a Veterinary Technician for an overnight emergency shift. The role runs Wednesday through Saturday, 8:00pm–6:00am, with holidays required.

Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $30.00 per hour, plus a shift differential. Pieper Veterinary is VECCS Level 1 certified and offers medical/dental/vision, 401k with employer match, PTO, CE allowances, and discounts for pet care and food.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting.
• Proficient in patient restraint and triage.
• Skilled with ventilator support and venipuncture.
• Able to communicate compassionately with pet parents.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on ICU care including treatments and vitals monitoring.
• Collaborate with board-certified Criticalists and ER veterinarians.
• Monitor patients using advanced equipment.
• Communicate with pet parents compassionately.
• Assist in training teammates and improving processes.

What You'll Do

• Work closely with board-certified Criticalists and ER vets
• Monitor patients closely using advanced equipment
• Communicate compassionately with pet parents
• Help train teammates and improve processes

What You Bring

• Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting
• Skilled in restraint, triage, patient monitoring, ventilator support, anesthesia, venipuncture, IV placement
• Associate’s in Veterinary Technology and/or CVT license a plus
• Strong communicator, works well independently and on a team
