Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists in Williston, VT is seeking a skilled Hybrid ER/ICU Veterinary Technician to join our ECC team on day/swing shifts. As Vermont’s only 24/7 emergency specialty hospital, we provide advanced care across a range of services.

The role combines fast-paced emergency duties with ICU nursing responsibilities for meaningful impact and ongoing learning. Salary ranges $26.00–$32.00 per hour for licensed technicians and $22.00–$28.00 per hour for unlicensed;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CVT/LVT certification or license preferred but not required.
• Minimum two years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Prior emergency experience preferred.
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients and their families.
• Perform triage and initiate critical interventions for emergent patients.
• Conduct basic examinations to assess patient stability.
• Execute advanced nursing procedures, including CPR, phlebotomy, cystocentesis, laboratory testing, and CRI calculations and administration.
• Administer and monitor sedation for minor procedures and advanced anesthesia for emergency surgeries.
• Provide ongoing care for hospitalized ICU and isolation patients.
• Facilitate patient admissions and discharges from the ICU.
• Prepare treatment estimates and discuss financial commitments with clients.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are properly prepared and maintained.

Overnight Hybrid ER/ICU Veterinary Technician

$26.00 - $32.00 per hour base rate for experienced, licensed technicians; And $22.00 - $28.00 per hour for unlicensed. Weekend shifts are eligible for a shift differential.
