Job summary

Arista Advanced Pet Care in Durham, NC seeks a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians and enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.

You will perform anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, diagnostic testing, records entry, and client communication, and assist with emergencies and exams. This role requires 3+ years in veterinary settings, a VT license where required, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working as a veterinary professional.
• Experience in both general practice and specialty/ ER veterinary medicine preferred.
• When state required, current Veterinary Technician License (must be provided prior to start date)

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Emergency veterinarians to care for both incoming emergency patients and hospitalized patients.
• Effectively triage and provide care according to the facility's needs and capabilities.
• Utilize full technician skills including anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic testing, invoicing, and EMR data entry.
• Monitor critically ill patients and report changes to veterinarians.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to maintain high standards of care.
• Record and update patient records, treatments, and client communications.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures including blood draws, catheter placement, and radiographs.
• Communicate treatment plans and post-treatment care to pet owners.
