BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. The role offers hourly pay and shift differentials for nights and weekends, with a structured Kahuna leveling system for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician in emergency/critical care settings preferred.
• Current licensure as a veterinary technician and ability to monitor anesthesia and vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, obtain vitals, and correlate with clinicians.
• Perform digital radiography and venous access procedures.
• Interpret blood pressure and vital signs; alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Provide compassionate care to critically ill or injured patients and mentor colleagues.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department .

Pay

$24.00 - $49.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example: Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday - 6 AM - 4 PM

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.

• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
