Job description

Are you a veterinary technician with a solid foundation in horsemanship, seeking a challenging yet rewarding position in equine medicine? If so, Oakridge Equine Hospital has an opportunity for you!

The Ideal Candidate:
  • You are a Certified Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant with solid horse handling skills and a basic knowledge of equine behavior.
  • A team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet.
  • You can remain composed in stressful and emotional situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • You possess clinical skills and experience that might include (but are not limited to):
  • Patient assessment and physical examinations.
  • Phlebotomy, catheter placement & management of fluid administration.
  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment, setup, and use.
  • Assisting DVMs in patient diagnostics, treatment, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures such as CBC/Chem/SAA/fecal testing/IGG/PRP.
  • Preparing, updating, and completing patient treatments and maintaining accurate medical records.
Anticipated Schedule (TBD):
  • Full-time and Part-time positions available.
  • Weekend and after-hours availability one weekend a month.
  • Our Clinic provides care 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials; minimum starting wage $12/hr.
