BluePearl Pet Hospital in Malvern, PA is hiring an experienced Overnight Veterinary Technician to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends, based on a 4-hour minimum. Examples include:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

BluePearl Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast-paced role that allows you to utilize and expand your skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes or issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train coworkers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
