BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. A sign-on bonus is available for credentialed technicians.

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the Veterinary Technician role offers an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize and expand your skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases upon arrival, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart and respiratory rates, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to any changes or issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
