Job summary

Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital seeks a compassionate Veterinary Emergency Technician to join our fast-paced, team-first emergency service in Plymouth Meeting, PA. You will triage, initiate critical care, and work with Vets and technicians to craft effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with emergency veterinarians and technicians to implement treatment plans for acute and complex cases.
  • Communicate compassionately with pet parents with clear updates and empathy during stressful moments.
  • Maintain a calm, organized workspace with rapid access to supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and case discussions to sharpen skills and stay current.

What Youll Do

As a Veterinary Emergency Technician at HVSH youll be on the front line of urgent patient care working in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Triage incoming patients by assessing their medical needs and prioritizing treatments based on urgency
  • Provide immediate critical careadminister fluids medications and other life saving interventions while closely monitoring patient status
  • Collaborate with emergency veterinarians and fellow technicians to devise and execute treatment plans for a variety of acute and complex cases
  • Communicate compassionately with pet parents offering clear updates reassurance and empathy during stressful moments
  • Maintain a calm organized workspace and ensure rapid access to the supplies and equipment needed for emergency interventions
  • Participate in ongoing training and case discussions sharpening your skills and staying current with the latest emergency protocols and best practices

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full time position with the following available schedule 4 10 hour shiftsShifts range from 6a 9pSome weekend availability needed
