Job summary

VCA Valley Animal Hospital & Emergency Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department. This full-time role features four 10-hour shifts and a compensation range of $16 to $23 per hour, with a $3 per hour night stipend for all 8 pm to 7 am hours.

Beyond CVT skills, the position emphasizes handling patients and clients in a fast-paced setting, advanced line placements, CPR, anesthesia management, and radiology for critical cases.

Qualifications

• Current AZ CVT license or eligible.
• Emergency department experience preferred.
• Excellent client and patient handling in a fast-paced setting.
• Advanced tube placement and central/PICC line skills.
• Proficient in BLS/ALS CPR techniques.
• Anesthesia induction, maintenance and monitoring for critical patients.
• Hands-free radiology for critical cases.

Job description

VCA Valley Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department.

Location: 4984 E 22nd St, Tucson, AZ 85711

Schedule: Full-Time, 4x10-hour shifts

Salary: $16 - 23/hour. Salary varies based on education, experience, & current AZ CVT license: (includes scale for licensed & unlicensed Veterinary Technicians). Additional $3/hour stipend for all hours 8 pm - 7 am

In addition to standard CVT skills, the Emergency Department values:

• Excellent Client & Patient Handling while working in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced tube placement including NG tubes, central lines, & PICC lines
• Confidence in applying BLS/ALS CPR techniques
• Anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring, & recovery of critical patients
• Hands-free radiology technique for critical patients
