Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center in Round Rock, TX is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician – Emergency to join our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. The role offers a full-time schedule with a 3x12 shift pattern, including two weekday shifts and one weekend shift, and a starting pay around $22/hour depending on experience and credentials.

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $22/hour. The final pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Schedule (full-time): 3x12 schedule with two weekday shifts and one weekend shift.

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Your Experience & Skills

Role Responsibilities:

Emergency Veterinary Technicians perform a variety of animal-health duties and ensure quality pet and client care. The Emergency Technician should be proficient in duties including but not limited to: client care and communication, efficient patient assessments, quick response to emergencies, patient monitoring, venipuncture, Iv catheter placement, patient recovery, anesthetic monitoring, diagnostic imaging,and medical math.

Ideal Candidate & Requirements:

• At least 3 years of recent experience in a veterinary practice
• Strong veterinary skills, including the ability to perform and assist with routine medical procedures
• Ability to safely and appropriately handle animals
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
• Previous emergency experience preferred but not required
