Job summary

VCA West Coast Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital in Fountain Valley, CA seeks an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician for a full-time position on a 4x10-hour shift schedule (Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat).

This role supports doctor and technician teams to deliver outstanding client experiences while caring for hospitalized patients. Required CVT/RVT/LVT credentials or CA licensure; competitive pay with swing and overnight differentials; benefits included.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVT credential required or eligible for California licensure
• Commitment to compassionate veterinary care and client communication
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced ER setting

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors and technicians in patient care across ER and treatment areas
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection
• Support anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery during procedures
• Prepare and assist in surgeries; maintain sterile technique
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient histories
• Provide excellent client service and education
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and infection control protocols
• Assist with euthanasia and humane care as needed
• Participate in inventory management and restocking of supplies

Job description

Join the VCA West Coast Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital team! We are looking for a Full-Time Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician.

Location: 18300 Euclid St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708

Schedule: Full-Time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts

Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Salary: $26.50 - $32.00 ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities.

Swing Differential: $2.00/hour

Overnight Differential: $3.00/hour

• Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately
• Maintain inventory and supplies for procedures and patient husbandry.
