Qualifications

• Must be credentialed as a Veterinary Technician in the state where the hospital is located.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Compassionate, professional, and able to handle stressful situations.
• Strong telephone and computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, and document visits in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, collect lab samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain records.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, manage records and accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthetized patients, and assist with discharge or transfer to care facility.
• Provide in-hospital treatments, administer medications, and maintain patient care and cleanliness.
• Participate in training new staff and disseminate knowledge.
• Keep hospital clean and organized per maintenance schedule.
