Animal Hospital of Lubbock is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our established three-doctor small animal practice in Lubbock, TX.

Qualifications

• Previous Veterinary Technician experience required.
• Credentialed and experienced non-credentialed technicians are welcome to apply.
• Strong patient handling and veterinary nursing skills.
• Surgery and anesthesia experience is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced small animal hospital.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Takes initiative and recognizes where support is needed.
• Collaborative approach and respect for experienced teammates.
• Adaptable and open to continued learning and change.
• Avimark experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Obtain patient histories and vital signs.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics.
• Take and process digital radiographs.
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgery.
• Monitor anesthesia and support surgical recovery.
• Assist with dental procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments.
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Perform technician appointments.
• Educate clients on medications, treatments, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas and medical equipment.
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians and support staff to maintain efficient hospital flow.
