Job summary

SAFE HARBOR VETERINARY SPECIALTY SE in Richardson, TX seeks Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Technician Assistants to join a privately owned small animal specialty clinic that just opened in April 2026. We are a fully equipped hospital with advanced capabilities and a dynamic animal healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior veterinary clinic experience, animal handling skills, and a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Highschool diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of veterinary experience.
• LVT and ER/specialty experience is preferred.
• Be able to lift 40lbs.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, bathing, and general care for hospitalized animals
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
• Administer medications accurately following veterinary instructions
• Monitor animal vital signs and observe for any signs of distress or illness
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Support emergency critical care procedures as needed including animal catheterization and maintaining chest and abdominal drains
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment using aseptic techniques
• Support laboratory procedures such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing
• Assist with client communications during intake, hospitalization and discharging from the hospital
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with compassion and attention to detail
