Veterinary Technician - Critical Care (ECC)

Our hospital offers advanced treatments, including mechanical ventilation, dialysis, and plasma exchange. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to learn and utilize the most progressive therapies while practicing the highest standards of veterinary medicine.
Schedule & Compensation
- Rotating schedule from 9 am-7 pm, Monday-Sunday
- Shift differentials: Sunday-Thursday night $4.00, Friday/Saturday night $6.00, Saturday/Sunday day $2.00
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with board-certified criticalists to provide excellent patient care
- Perform nursing skills such as animal restraint, vital signs, anesthesia monitoring, intubation, catheterization, phlebotomy, treatments, and medication administration
- Monitor and care for patients using state-of-the-art equipment
- Assist with anesthetic protocols for surgical procedures
- Operate in-house lab machines, take radiographs, and discuss diagnostics with clients
- Maintain medical records and communicate compassionately with pet owners and veterinarians
- Assist with advanced procedures like CT scans, dialysis, ventilators, TPE, and line placements (preferred skills)
Technical Skills
- Ensure safety standards are met throughout the hospital
- Handle animals properly for procedures and treatments
- Perform TPR, data entry, and lab work
- Assist with radiographs and ultrasound restraint
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred
- Experience in emergency or specialty veterinary medicine preferred
- Strong knowledge of veterinary protocols and anesthesia monitoring
- Excellent technical, communication, and animal handling skills
- Ability to work under pressure, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
