Job summary

CityVet West Moore is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our team. The VT assists veterinarians, prepares patients for surgery, restrains animals, and supports front-office operations. A minimum of 1 year in the veterinary field is required, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years old at the time of hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery and assisting with anesthesia, X-rays, and lab samples.
• Obtain and collect samples such as stool and blood for testing.
• Perform testing on collected samples and help interpret results.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed by the DVM.
• Communicate with clients and provide care instructions per the plan.
• Support the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
