Job summary

North Port Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our two-doctor practice in North Port, FL. You will be part of a full-service, collaborative team with the support of other technicians and a dedicated practice manager, in a hospital that values growth and professional development.

We maintain AVMA and FVMA memberships and are United Veterinary Care partners. The role includes anesthesia assistance, radiography, and strong client communication in a busy, respectful setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift pets up to 50 lbs.
• Experience assisting in sedation/anesthesia.
• Strong communication with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, quality care to our clients and patients.
• Discharging patients from the clinic.
• Fill prescriptions.
• Draw blood.
• Obtain vitals on patients.
• Assist in inducing and maintaining patients under sedation or anesthesia.
• IV catheter placement and maintenance; drug administration.
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures and monitor patients.
• Assist with dental radiographs and charting.
• Recognize and report pain, distress, or any other patient concerns.
• Assist in emergency services (CPR, catheterization, intubation, drug administration).
