Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs.
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized and recovering patients, including monitoring and medication administration.
• Place IV catheters, administer IV fluids, and assist with fluid therapy.
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples for lab testing.
• Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography and in-house analyzers.
• Support dental procedures including anesthesia monitoring and radiography.
• Maintain medical records and treatment logs clearly and accurately.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans and post-procedure care.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Seeking Experienced Full Time Veterinary Technician to join our team at Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital

• Location: Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital - Berkeley Heights, NJ
• Schedule: Full-Time, flexible schedule options available
  • 4-day work week with flexible weekday scheduling
  • Shifts are generally 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Mondays and Fridays)
  • Required: every other Saturday morning with adjusted hours during the week.
• Compensation: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour (Compensation based on experience, credentials, and skillset)

A Day in the Life

• Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow throughout the hospital
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical and dental procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort
• Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized and recovering patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and comfort care
• Place IV catheters, administer IV fluids, and assist with fluid therapy and treatment plans
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples for laboratory testing
• Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, dental radiography, and in-house laboratory analyzers
• Support dental procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and dental radiography
• Accurately maintain medical records, treatment logs, and patient documentation
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding treatment plans, patient updates, and post-procedure care
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and maintain an efficient hospital environment
