Role Overview

The Veterinary Technician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care. They support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laboratory testing, patient nursing, and client education, ensuring smooth and successful interactions and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures and surgeries.
  • Gather patient histories, vital signs, and provide client education during outpatient exams.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
  • Collect and process samples, perform in-hospital testing, and prepare specimens for external labs.
  • Take and develop radiographs following safety protocols.
  • Handle and restrain animals during exams.
  • Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, labs, and equipment.
  • Interact professionally and compassionately with clients and patients.
  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding patient care and client concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Previous veterinary technician experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and more with assistance.
  • Follow OSHA safety protocols, including proper PPE use.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Math skills for medication calculations.
  • Strong communication skills for patient safety.
