Randall Oaks Animal Hospital, opened in June 2002, brings many years of veterinary experience. Our veterinarians are committed to keeping your pet healthy through preventative care and compassionate service. We proudly serve Carpentersville, East and West Dundee, Algonquin, Elgin, Huntley, and surrounding areas. Our hours are Monday through Saturday.

About the Role

The Veterinary Technician supports veterinarians and other team members by providing patient care, monitoring hospitalized pets, maintaining inventory, preparing prescriptions, performing routine lab work, educating clients, and assisting with surgeries.

Requirements include: strong surgical skills, ability to place IV catheters on dogs and cats, anesthesia monitoring, administering IM & SQ injections, NT, anal gland expression, blood draws, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Hours of Operation

• Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wed: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
• Sat: 8:00 AM to Noon
• Sun: Closed

Flexibility with schedule and ability to work at least 2 Saturdays per month are required. Pay range: $18 - $20 DOE.

Responsibilities

• Assist with veterinary exams, surgeries, and treatments
• Collect samples, perform lab tests, and prepare specimens
• Take radiographs following safety protocols
• Handle and restrain animals
• Administer medications and monitor anesthesia
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Minimum Requirements

• Weekend availability
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently, more with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety protocols
• Basic math and computer skills
• Strong communication skills
