Job summary

VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center in Sacramento, California, is seeking a highly motivated full-time Technician Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, multi-doctor team. The position supports the team with basic patient care, surgical instrument sterilization, OR cleaning and preparation, and maintaining a clean, low-stress hospital environment for our patients.

Qualifications

• Interest in gaining veterinary experience.
• Ability to work in a collaborative fast-paced environment while showing compassion to animals.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to independently perform daily duties and initiative to keep the facility clean.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize surgical instruments and maintain operating room cleanliness and preparation.
• Assist with surgical preparation of patients.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and animal kennels.
• Provide basic nursing care and general hospital maintenance.
• Stock medical and surgical supplies; sanitize and launder as needed.
