You’ll work alongside our cardiologists and Licensed Veterinary Technicians, helping with patient care, client communication, appointments, and all the moving pieces that keep a busy specialty service running smoothly.
You don’t need to be a cardiology expert. You do need to be curious, flexible, comfortable with both pets and people, and excited to learn.
Your days will be a mix of hands-on patient care, client communication, and keeping Cardiology moving. You’ll:
As your skills grow, so will your role. With training, you’ll have opportunities to take on more responsibility with Cardiology appointments, including obtaining patient histories and helping guide patients and clients through their visits.

Veterinary assistant or specialty hospital experience is preferred, but motivation, curiosity, and the desire to grow matter to us, too.
Cardiology is a fascinating mix of patient care, advanced diagnostics, technology, and long-term relationships with clients and their pets.

Your primary home will be Cardiology, but AERC is a collaborative emergency and specialty hospital. Specialty support team members may assist other departments when needed and participate in after-hours support through an assigned on-call rotation or by helping Emergency & Critical Care on weekends, holidays, or other periods of operational need.
AERC is Minnesota’s only locally owned emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. You’ll work alongside specialists, emergency clinicians, LVTs, assistants, and support professionals while getting exposure to advanced veterinary medicine every day.
