Warmandfuzzyvet in the Baltimore area seeks a Veterinary Technician/Assistant with 2+ years of experience to join our 4-doctor practice in the Greenleigh development. We offer above-average pay and benefits with schedule flexibility for work-life balance.

Experience with exotic animals is preferred or openness to learning about birds, reptiles, and ferrets. Responsibilities include anesthesia monitoring, radiography, dental cleanings, patient care, and client education.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years veterinary technician/assistant experience.
• Ability to restrain animals up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to learn about exotics (birds, reptiles, ferrets).
• Excellent client service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals for procedures.
• Position for xrays – dental and standard.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures.
• Perform dental cleanings and patient care.
• Process laboratory samples and prescriptions.
• Answer phones and emails; educate clients.
• Maintain clinic organization and cleanliness.

We are a rapidly growing, privately owned, 4-doctor, small animal and exotic veterinary practice in the new Greenleigh development. We seek a highly skilled Veterinary Technician/Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Our practice is growing and we need another team member with good customer service skills to grow with us! Experience with exotic animals is preferred. If no exotics experience, must be open to learning about and being in close proximity to exotic animals such as birds, reptiles, and ferrets.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Animal restraint for procedures
• Position for xrays – dental and standard
• Surgical / anesthesia monitoring
• Dental cleanings
• Patient care for hospitalized pets
• Surgical discharge instructions
• Client education
• Set up for appointments
• Process laboratory samples
• Operate in-house laboratory equipment
• Prescription processing
• Answer phones
• Field client questions
• Answer emails/faxes etc
• Process payment transactions
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the office space
• Knowledge of hospital policies and philosophies
• Assist veterinarians and receptionists as needed

Necessary Skills include:

• Animal restraint (able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted)
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Proper x-ray positioning technique
• Dental cleanings
• Medicine administration
• Ability to handle multi-line phone systems.
• Computer skills are required, as we are a paperless business, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to technological advances.

Job Type: Full-time

This position requires some evening and weekend scheduling. We are closed on Sundays
