Job summary

Epic Tails Veterinary Clinic in Charlotte, NC seeks two full-time Veterinary Technicians or Assistants. We offer a competitive hourly rate ($19.00-$23.00) with a $500 sign-on bonus and four 10-hour shifts weekly.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform low-stress restraint and handling of cats and dogs.
• Experience with lab work, radiographs, injections, IV catheter placement, and medication dispensing.
• Knowledge of medical record maintenance and safety during exams.
• Anesthesia monitoring experience is a strong plus, with willingness to train.
• Strong client communication and education skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy clinic.
• Interest in growth and learning new skills.

Epic Tails Veterinary Clinic is hiring two full-time Veterinary Technicians or Assistants!

Salary:$19.00-$23.00 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate!

Sign-on bonus:$500 sign on bonus, with $250 paid after completion of 90-day probationary period and $250 paid at the 6-month mark.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position, typically working four 10-hour shifts.

A typical schedule could be:

• Tuesday:7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Thursday:7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Friday:7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Every other Saturday:8:00 AM – 1:00 PM –(When scheduled for a Saturday shift, a half-day off during the week will be provided.)

You are…

• Skilled with the technical stuff:
  • Low-stress and fear-free restraint and handling of cats and dogs—bonus if you also have experience working with birds and small mammals, too!
  • Lab work, radiograph positioning and safety, injections (SQ, IV, IM), IV catheter placement, medication dispensing, and medical record maintenance, restraint for exams, and supporting veterinarians during procedures and appointments
  • Hospital maintenance, stocking, and cleanliness
  • Anesthesia monitoring and administration experience is a strong plus, but we can train a motivated learner!
• Skilled with the soft stuff: client communication and education, conflict resolution, answering phones, and taking payments
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Able to work under pressure, in new environments
• Interested in growing your skillset and learning new things
• Someone who believes in welcoming clients into the medical process by educating, supporting, comforting, and treating them as individuals
