Job summary

Gentle Care Animal Hospital in Raleigh, NC seeks an anesthesia veterinary technician to support veterinarians, ensure patient safety, and educate clients. You will assist with surgeries, monitor anesthesia, maintain medical records, and uphold clean, sterile treatment areas within Thrive Pet Healthcare.

Qualifications

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred.
• 1-2 years of clinical and anesthetic experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures and maintain patient flow.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records and obtain health histories.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
