Job summary
Metairie Small Animal Hospital, part of National Veterinary Associates, seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 hospital team in Metairie, LA. You will work across treatment, diagnostic and surgical services, with hands-on learning in advanced areas and a focus on patient advocacy and teamwork.

Qualifications
- Hands-on veterinary clinical experience required.
- Non-credentialed or credentialed RVT/LVT/CVT candidates encouraged to apply.
- Experience in surgery, anesthesia, CT, oncology, dentistry, ophthalmology, ICU or advanced diagnostics is valued.
Responsibilities
- Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care.
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics and treatments.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement and fluid therapy.
- Run in-house bloodwork and laboratory diagnostics.
- Take and process digital radiographs; assist CT imaging and diagnostics.
- Support anesthesia and surgical procedures and recovery.
- Assist with dentistry and dental radiographs.
- Support oncology treatments and diagnostic workups.
- Assist ICU team with restless or critically ill patients.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and communicate with the medical team.
