Job summary

Metairie Small Animal Hospital in Metairie, LA, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 emergency and specialty practice. You’ll work hands-on across anesthesia, surgery, oncology, CT, dentistry, and diagnostics in a growing hospital.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on veterinary clinical experience required.
• Open to credentialed and non-credentialed candidates.
• Experience in surgery, anesthesia, CT, oncology, dentistry, ophthalmology, ICU or advanced diagnostics is valued.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics and treatments.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement and fluid therapy.
• Run in-house bloodwork and lab diagnostics.
• Take and process digital radiographs.
• Assist with CT imaging and advanced diagnostics.
• Monitor anesthesia and support surgeries and recovery.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Communicate with doctors, clients and team.
