Job summary

Windham Animal Hospital in Windham, New Hampshire, is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join a four-doctor practice. The successful candidate will operate with modern equipment including digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and an in-house lab, while delivering compassionate patient care and strong client education.

Ideal candidates have experience as a veterinary technician, strong restraint skills, and comfort with anesthesia monitoring, vaccines, and diagnostic testing.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary technician experience.
  • Strong patient handling and restraint skills.
  • Knowledge of preventative care and vaccines.
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring.
  • Competency in emergency and surgical care.
  • Experience with IV catheter placement, radiographs, phlebotomy, and sample collection.
  • Knowledge of in-house laboratory procedures.
  • Strong communication and client education skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a dependable work ethic.
  • Availability to work some evenings and every other Saturday.
  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and effectively handle and restrain patients.
  • Support preventative care and vaccine appointments.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia and support patients during induction and recovery.
  • Assist with emergency and surgical patient care.
  • Perform IV catheter placement.
  • Obtain radiographs and support diagnostic imaging.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect diagnostic samples.
  • Complete in-house laboratory testing.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members.
  • Educate clients and help them understand their pets’ care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document client interactions clearly.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do
