Job summary

Animal Care Hospital of Walnut Creek is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role requires handling animals safely, performing lab work, radiographs, and assisting veterinarians during exams, surgeries, and anesthesia.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely restrain animals with care and compassion.
• Communicate care instructions and patient status to clients clearly.
• Perform lab work and basic diagnostic procedures.
• Assist with medication dispensing and maintaining medical records.
• Keep exam rooms and equipment clean, stocked, and compliant with safety guidelines.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
