Job summary

Animal Care Hospital of Walnut Creek is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery. You will handle animals with care, communicate care instructions to clients, perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and manage medical records.

The role requires DEA/OSHA familiarity and adherence to hospital safety guidelines in a fast-paced setting with weekend coverage and long shifts.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 dependent on skills and experience

Schedule: 4 days per week 10 hour shifts, on weekend day is required
