Job Description
The Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC) is a 24‑hour Emergency and Critical Care facility providing demand‑driven veterinary services. This LevelI Veterinary Technician position will carry out nursing care and support clinical work in the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit under the supervision of clinicians and house officers.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to small animal ICU patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and wound dressing.
- Assist with diagnostics and procedures, such as imaging, laboratory work, and surgical support.
- Triage and stabilize incoming emergency patients.
- Prepare and educate patients and families regarding treatment plans.
- Instruct and demonstrate veterinary care and technical skills to 4th‑year veterinary students.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, faculty, and staff to deliver advanced care.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient care.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in technical skills and ability to coordinate diagnostics and procedures.
- Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Capacity to recognize changes in patient health and respond appropriately.
- Valid veterinary technician registration/line or certification.
- Legal work authorization in the United States.
