Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital in Simi Valley, CA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our busy team and provide high-quality medicine to pets and support to their families.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician/Nurse required
• Valid Veterinary Technician/Nurse certification is a plus (not required)
• Excellent technical skills including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory techniques
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal care
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexible schedule
• Passion for animals and dedication to providing exceptional care

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians with examinations and treatments
• Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
• Drawing blood and collecting laboratory samples
• Running in-house diagnostic tests
• Preparing and administering medications and vaccines under veterinarian direction
• Taking and assisting with digital radiographs
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with procedures
• Monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs
• Providing post-operative and hospitalized patient care
• Maintaining accurate medical records
• Educating and communicating with clients
• Helping keep treatment areas organized and stocked

What You'll Do

Depending on your experience and skill level, responsibilities may include:

• Assisting veterinarians with examinations and treatments
• Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
