Veterinary Technician

Full-time: 4 day, 10 hour shift with rotating Saturdays


Location: 2815 N Loop, 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232


Vanguard Veterinary Clinic, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. We provide support, tools, and resources to elevate your skills. Our hospital offers a genuine local community feel combined with the benefits of Thrive's extensive resources.

About You

You will play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care, including outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, surgery assistance, and client support services such as admission and discharge.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and injections
  • Provide general patient care
  • Set up, position, and take digital radiographs
  • Collect, prepare, and interpret in-house laboratory and cytology tests
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgeries
  • Educate clients on preventive care
  • Properly restrain patients with compassion for procedures
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years veterinary hospital experience
  • Preferred but not required: LVT/RVT/CVT certification
  • Team player willing to cross-train
  • Self-motivated learner
  • Cheerful attitude
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Proactive initiative
  • Rotational Saturdays
About the Hospital

We are a full-service hospital caring for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. Our environment is fast-paced, friendly, and community-centered, emphasizing honest communication and respect for pets and their owners. Operating hours are Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 8am-12pm.
