Job summary

Muddy Creek Animal Care Center in Rowley, MA is seeking an experienced or licensed veterinary technician to join a collaborative team. The role offers full-time hours, competitive pay ($21–$27/hr) and a robust benefits package focused on wellness and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and provide perioperative nursing care.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery as directed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and obtain patient histories.
  • Administer and dispense medications with precision.
  • Support preventive care and client education.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery and provide attentive perioperative nursing care
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery as directed
  • Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate medical records
  • Administer and dispense medications accurately
  • Perform pharmacology calculations
  • Collect blood samples and place intravenous catheters
  • Support preventive care appointments and client education
  • Administer vaccines and educate clients about preventive healthcare
  • Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care

What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring

  • At least two years of small animal surgical experience
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician credential preferred, but experienced veterinary technicians are encouraged to apply
  • Strong knowledge of vaccines and preventive medicine
  • Experience obtaining patient histories and maintaining medical records
  • Confidence performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Experience administering and dispensing medications
  • Knowledge of pharmacology calculations
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
