Job summary

Newport Veterinary Hospital in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians during appointments, diagnostics, and procedures. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional Saturday shifts, and a competitive hourly wage.

You will assist with patient handling, basic lab work, and maintaining clean exam rooms, while delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures.
• Provide safe handling and restraint of patients.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare samples as directed.
• Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.
• Accurately update patient records and support client communication.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

. Veterinary Assistant

Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30AM–6:00 PM, with a day off each week. Saturday shifts are 7:30 AM–12:00 PM and required. If you're scheduled for a Saturday, you'll also receive an additional day during the week in addition to your regular day off.
